According to the written statement made by the General Directorate of Turkish State Railways (TCDD), maximum 120 kilometers per hour for passenger trains and 65 kilometers per hour for freight trains, the Konya-Karaman line of 102 will be made in accordance with the high-speed trains. In addition, the 200 level crossing, 73 underpass and 13 overpass will be completed.
Konya-Karaman high speed train line, which is located on the southern axis of High Speed ​​and High Speed ​​Train projects that continue with Ankara-Konya, Eskişehir and Istanbul, is considered as the first link of the high speed train network that will extend to Adana, Mersin, Osmaniye, Gaziantep and Mardin. The project, which is planned to be completed in 40 months, is aimed to open the new line in the first 16 months.
While it is aimed that train traffic will not be interrupted during the construction works of the second line, it is planned to provide train traffic from the existing line, as in Europe, after the new line is completed, the train traffic will be taken on the new line and the infrastructure and superstructure of the existing line will be renewed. Thus, the speed of the existing line will be increased to 200 kilometers per hour.
