Using the Yenimahalle-Şentepe Cable Car Line as a Public Transport Vehicle Major Exception: Turkish Engineers and Architects Union (TMMOB) Chamber of Architects Ankara Branch Secretary Tezcan Karakuş Candan, regarding the opening of the Yenimahalle-Şentepe cable car line, said: using it as a great exception, ”he said.

Speaking at the meeting held at the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects, Candan said that the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality filed a lawsuit regarding the Yenimahalle-Şentepe cable car line, which will be opened today, and that the expert report came in favor of TMMOB.

Claiming that the project continues with an approach that harms the public, Candan said, “It is mentioned about the cable cars that will pass 7 meters over the apartments. It is said that stops will be made every 15 seconds, where the cabin will dock. It is stated that 2 thousand 400 people will be moved per hour ”.

Noting that the use of the cable car as a means of public transport is a great exception when looking at cities at international scales, Candan said, "The transport master plan is still clear, not approved."

Candan criticized Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek's transportation policies.
