Light Appears in the 7-Kilometer Samanlı Tunnel: A light-seeing ceremony was held in the İznik-Orhangazi section of the Samanlı Tunnel between Istanbul and Bursa.
A light-seeing ceremony was held with Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç and Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lütfü Elvan in the İznik-Orhangazi section of the Samanlı Tunnel between Istanbul and Bursa.
"WE SEE THE LIGHT WHILE GOING THROUGH THE TUNNEL"
Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç attended the light-seeing ceremony in İznik - Orhangazi Samanlı Tunnel with the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lütfü Elvan. Arinc toured the tunnel with Minister Elvan and received information about the tunnel from the authorities.
Arınç expressed the following: “We are very happy, we really see a dream come true. As we were passing through the tunnel, we saw the light, we went to the Yalova side. We are now in the tunnel. May God bless you. Maybe the last century, one of the largest projects that may arise with the quadrillion TL 14-15 billion, Turkey's most powerful contractors formed consortium came together and I applaud the work that they put together the median working day and night. "
"We OPENING DAY 200 METERS TUNNEL IN TURKEY"
Reminding that these 3 thousand 500 meters long tunnels were built in 2 years, Arınç continued as follows: “However, do not forget that the Bolu Mountain Tunnel, which is shorter than this, was built exactly 12 years later. Similarly, the construction of shorter tunnels took 7 years in the past. It happened in 2 years now, what a tremendous achievement. They work using the latest technological facilities at their disposal, and this is emerging. From Istanbul to Yalova, Bursa, Balıkesir, Izmir, we will be able to cover approximately 500 kilometers in 3,5 hours. This shows how successful a government is anyway. Fortunately, we are opening a 200-meter tunnel in our country a day. So on the highways, for example 15-20 tunnels on this road, there are viaducts, all our cities will benefit from this. Where the land ends, 4 large suspension bridges and a 4-kilometer bridge will be built. We will hold the ceremony with the honor of our Prime Minister on 15 March. "
ELVAN: İZMİR CONNECTION WILL END IN 2017
Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lütfü Elvan stated that the tunnel is 7 kilometers long with the departure and arrival, and said: “This tunnel was completed in a very short time. Our goal is to connect Istanbul to Bursa by the end of 2015. Our vehicles will reach Yalova from Istanbul, and from Yalova to Bursa by motorway cars. We will continue to complete other projects rapidly. Probably, a connection with Izmir will be established in 2017. These projects happen thanks to stability. This is thanks to trust in the government. Without stability, these projects will not come true without a penny out of the state's pocket. We do these with the build-operate-transfer model. This means that there is trust in our country and we are making these investments. We do not settle for highways, we make groundbreaking investments in railways and airlines. Our work on the high-speed train line continues very intensely. "
