7 people arrested in the Izmir port operation were released: 15 out of 7 people arrested within the scope of the Izmir-based operation, including the head of TCDD Ports Department Muhsin Yılmaz.
Izmir 5th Criminal Court of Peace evaluated evacuation signs upon the application of the accused lawyers. He decided to release TCDD Ports Head Muhsin Yılmaz, Birol Bafra, Turan Yalçın, Mahmut Can Bayoğlu, Muzaffer Emre Sakarla, Faruk Yakaryılmaz, Muhammet Tayfur Uzun and the detention of 8 other defendants.
The evacuation of the defendants was subject to a ban on leaving abroad and judicial control.
Operations were carried out on January 7 by teams of the Department of Fight Against Financial Crimes affiliated to the Izmir Police Department and 24 people were detained.
