Social Cards for 65 Age and Above Will Become Free Cards

Social Cards for 65 Years and Above Are Turning to Free Cards: With the amendment to the Free and Discounted Travel Cards Regulation, public transportation vehicles have become free for citizens aged 65 and over. IETT announced that the citizens over the age of 65 can convert their discounted travel cards for free upon the arrangement.
Following the publication of the 'Free or Discounted Travel Cards Regulation' prepared by the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and coming into force in the Official Gazette, the number of people who have a “Social Card” with a discount of over 400 years old who are over 60 years old, The cards of those who have reached the age of 65 will be automatically converted for free. Citizens can easily convert their cards to the nearest ticket machines or automatic vending machines and turn them into free cards. The converted cards will be able to use until 2025. There are 232 Ticketmatic devices and 145 Vending Machines throughout Istanbul. Citizens aged 65 and over who do not have a Social Card will be able to travel for free by showing their identity cards until they receive their free travel cards.
In accordance with the regulation published by the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, IETT buses providing public transportation services in Istanbul, TCDD Lines, Istanbul Transportation Lines, Istanbul Bus Inc. lines, Private Public Bus Lines, Istanbul City Lines, Dentur and Turyol Lines and Blue Tour Lines provide free transportation for citizens over 65 years old.
