A 112-person team consisting of Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), Gendarmerie and 25 health personnel participated in the exercise, coordinated by the Erzincan Governorate. Rescue methods were tried as soon as possible to those who were trapped in the chairlift in the event of possible mechanical failure during the exercise held at the 2nd station of the ski center at an altitude of 450 thousand 2 meters. For the first time in the exercise, AFAD teams have also used digital radio systems, a race against time has begun to save those who are trapped in the chairlift due to the scenario.

The crews on the ski lifts, one by one with the ropes of the stranded people in half an hour. A person injured in accordance with the scenario, UMKE teams intervened in a short time by the ambulance with a crawler was taken to the hospital.

Governor Abdurrahman Akdemir reminded that Ergan Mountain Winter Sports Center is a new and longest chairlift center. Governor Akdemir said:

“We regularly perform maintenance and repair of these facilities, and also practice with our rescuers against possible mechanical failure. We aim to be able to evacuate all our passengers in the facility with a capacity of 450 in half an hour in case of a possible mechanical failure. The intervention needs to be carried out in the first half hour. Our teams are very successful. Hopefully there will not be such a malfunction, but in case of this, we are prepared with all our rescue teams.
