On the lion share railways in transportation: Among the investments of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications this year, the highest amount was allocated to rail transport with 5 billion 802 million liras.
According to the AA correspondent's compilation of the 2014 Investment Program, the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications ranked first among the public investments to be realized this year with the investment budget of 12 billion 996 thousand pounds.
Accordingly, in the rail transport, 3 billion 858 million pounds to the General Directorate of Turkish State Railways, 1 billion 944 million pounds were allocated to other railway projects to be performed by the Ministry. Thus, a total of 5 billion 802 million pounds will be invested in railway transportation.
For highway investments, 3 billion 53 million 884 thousand pounds were given to the General Directorate of Highways. The total amount of 3 billion 132 thousand thousand pounds allocated for this investment item, the Ministry and the General Directorate of Security while the total 653 million 78 thousand pounds. All of the 769 million 549 thousand pounds of investment for motorways were allocated to the General Directorate of Highways.
