In Erzurum, 300 athletes, members of various ski clubs, were able to benefit from gondollifts and chairlifts, including trainers, free of charge. The Privatization Administration, in its notification to ski clubs during the week, stated that it can use the mechanical facilities from its athletes and trainers for a fee. The skiers who came to Konaklı and Palandöken today, including A National Team athletes, were shocked. A fee was demanded from the athletes who wanted to climb to their skiing points in mechanical facilities.
Ski club managers and trainers stated that they do not have the economic strength to pay 35 TL per athlete per day. The club athletes gathered in front of the mechanical facilities condemned the decision of the Privatization Administration. Çetin Limon and Temel Yavuz made a joint press release on behalf of the coaches and clubs. Yavuz and Limon stated that the decision taken by the Privatization Administration was a blow to sports and athletes. Yavuz stated that if the wage decision is not lifted, they will not participate in the Turkey Championship with the stage races between cities and regions in the coming weeks. Yavuz pointed out that they expect the Privatization Administration to give up its decision and said, “We are raising athletes without seeking profit or profit. These (athletes) represent Erzurum. The facility fees are 35 TL per day, I have 40 athletes. Which club goes under this? We do this business without a profit. Our aim is not tourism, we raise athletes. " said.
