  1. The Airport Will Be Opened In January 2019: The tender for the third airport with a capacity of 150 million passengers to be built in Istanbul was held in Ankara on 3 May. TAV, IC-Fraport joint venture group, Cengiz-Kolin-Limak-MapaKalyon joint venture group and Makyol İnşaat submitted bids in the tender, which was determined as 3 billion euros. When it comes to the 7th round of the auction, which reached 22 billion 100 million euros, IC-Fraport asked for a break, although the two companies continued to auction after the break, the highest bid for a 87-year lease price was also the highest bid in the history of the Republic, 25 billion. Limak-Kolin-CengizMapa-Kalyon Joint Venture Group gave 22 million euros plus VAT.

The airport is expected to be put into service in January 2019. Thanks to these runways, the largest F code passenger planes Airbus A380 and Boeing 747800 3 will be able to land. The two taxiways planned to be built will be 500 thousand 45 niers long and 90 meters wide. These taxiways will have the nature of an emergency runway. Small taxiways connected to them will also be built. Speaking after the tender, the total investment will reach 10 billion TL, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, stated that the total investment cost for the airport is 90 billion euros and that the total investment will reach XNUMX billion Turkish Lira.
