According to the information obtained by the AA reporter, the thieves "haunting" the lines of TCDD, especially the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line, steal various materials with fiber optic cables, signaling and electrification wires.
In the last 1,5 years, there have been 1 thefts in TCDD 21st Region, where the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line is also located, 65 for electrification and 86 for signaling facilities.
During these events, nearly 100 meters of cables and wires and materials used for signaling and electrification were stolen. The cost of theft incidents to TCDD reached 6 million 320 thousand liras.
