Noise Map of Kocaeli

Kocaeli Noise Map Will Be Made: Kocaeli was chosen as the pilot province in the "Capacity Strengthening for the Environmental Noise Directive" project carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization within the framework of the EU IPA 2009 Program. In this context, noise maps will be prepared for the sources (such as Highways, Railway, Industrial Facilities and Ports) affecting residential areas within Kocaeli borders.
The first consultation meeting of the project with the participation of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Environmental Protection and Control Department, Department of Development and Urbanization, Strategy Development Department, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization and representatives of Kocaeli Port Authority and European Union experts. It was performed. The meeting was held in Antikkapı and the EU project expert Soul Davis took part.
During the meeting, information was shared about the geographic information system, zoning status, industry, port, highway and railway current conditions that could be needed within the scope of noise maps. In the next phase of the project; European Union experts for technical staff will be given the necessary training on noise map preparation.
The project will continue with the collection of data, determination of calculation methods, preparation of noise map and analysis of results. Action plans will be prepared by determining the measures to be taken.
