The First Step was Taken for the Light Rail System Period in Kocaeli: Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality pressed the button to implement its giant projects within the scope of the Transportation Master Plan. In this context, a tender was held for the preparation of the projects and studies of the Northern Public Transport Light Rail System Line, which is the main backbone of the plan.
BRITISH, ISLAND AND SPANISH COMPANIES
Five firms submitted bids for the tender held at the Metropolitan Municipality's service building. The participation of the British, Italian and Spanish companies showed the high standard of the project. In case of at least three of these firms, the tender will be considered as valid and the second phase will be realized. At this stage the announced time will be 40 days. The contractor firm 300 will complete and deliver the contract.
Gebze, UMUTTEPE and SOUTH LINE
The Northern Public Transport Light Rail Line will be implemented on the 32 kilometer route between the Gulf Atalar District and Cengiz Topel Airport, which is determined by the Metropolitan Main Transportation Master Plan. Transfer centers will also be designed within the scope of this work. The other stages of the project to be carried out under the control of the Metropolitan Transportation Department will be implemented in Gebze, Umuttepe and Kocaeli's southern line.
TRAMWAY TO BE DONE
It will project the tramway project which is a part of the Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Master Plan in Izmit city center by integrating it with light rail system. In the coming days, the tender will be held for this study.
