Ski season in Bosnia Started: The ski season was officially opened with a ceremony at the ski resort of Yahorina near Sarajevo

The season officially started at the Yahorina ski resort near Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Eastern Sarajevo Tourism Organizations Director Branka Spasoyevic, said in a statement to the AA correspondent, today started the ski season and the center began to work in the cable cars, he said.

Noting that the snow thickness in Yahorina has not yet reached a sufficient level, Spasoyevic said that as of today, the snow depth on the mountain is 30 centimeters.

Spasoyevic noted that Yahorina is ready for the new season and said, “Our hotels have a bed capacity of 2 beds. A similar number is available in rental homes and pensions in the vicinity. The vast majority of our hotels are already up due to the new year. ”

Tarik Spahic, who visited Yahorina on the first day of the season, said that he came to Yahorina for the first time and that his first impressions were wonderful.

The Yahorina ski resort, which was never damaged during the war in Bosnia, is located 28 kilometers from the capital Sarajevo. In Yahorina, which has much wider ski slopes than other ski centers of the city, Igman and Byelashnitsa, there are ski schools and ski service as well as ski areas, skiing, night skiing and hiking.

The official opening is planned for Byelashnica, another important ski resort in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the coming days.
