Contactless Card Period in Konya Public Transportation: Konya Metropolitan Municipality, in cooperation with the Interbank Card Center, offered the cards of the banks with the feature of “contactless” use in public transportation. Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Interbank Card Center (BKM) launched the “Konya Transportation Project”. Konya Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Akyürek said that the project was implemented at 350 bus, 59 tram and tram stops in the center of Konya, and that the system will be implemented not only in the city center but throughout the province with the new Metropolitan Law.
Akyürek said, “The project attracted attention and received awards in London and Dubai we promoted. The project currently used in Konya is the first in the world in terms of scope. ” Akyürek stated that they have been working on the project for 2 years and said, “Currently, 800 people use their contactless cards in public transportation. We aim to use in nearly a thousand vehicles throughout Konya.
