TCDD Carries the Burden of Anatolian Tigers to Europe | BALO Project

BALO Project.Adopts the burden of the Anatolian Tigers TCDD to Europe.In order to transport the cargoes of industrialists and exporters in Anatolia to the inner parts of Europe, especially in the cities of Munich and Cologne, BALO (Greater Anatolia Logistics Organization) Project is being implemented.

With the BALO Project; Container loads from the door of the exporter in different cities of Anatolia will be combined in the local TCDD logistics centers and will be brought to Bandırma by block trains from here. From Tekirdağ, it will be transported back to Europe with scheduled block trains.

Combined transport constitutes a very good example of time and with this model, as well as savings realized from handling charges, loads coming to Turkey from European countries will also be delivered to its destination in a similar manner again.

As it is known, TCDD is to ensure that the railways are more efficient and efficient in freight transportation. The company has started to build railway centers, has started to establish logistics centers, has started to manufacture wagons suitable for combined transportation, has cooperated with the private sector for the connection of Organized Industrial Zones to the main railway network and has made significant progress in the fields of container, TIR chassis transportation and automobile transportation.

With the help of the block train application which is the basis of the BALO Project, the connection of the transmission lines to the main railway network has been increased and the increase in the amount of the cargo transportation and the income. At present, 135 units of domestic and 14 units are operated on a daily basis. In addition, in order to connect the production centers to the main railway network, an average number of 149 pieces of transmission is carried out annually in cooperation with the private sector. 6 of the railway transports are made in these lines which reach to 337.
