Near the Yerköy district of Yozgat, 3 wagons of a passenger train derailed and overturned. The 11542 wagons of the South East Express, numbered 3, which was driven by Mehmet Ali Aydın as the engine driver from Ankara to Diyarbakır, derailed near Yerköy.

5 passengers were lightly injured in overturned cars. Survivors of injured passengers were treated by health teams.

225 passengers of the train are transferred to Sivas and Kayseri by buses. From there, they will be sent to their destination.

Kırşehir Governor Özdemir Çakacak said that 225 passengers of the train derailed between Çiçekdağı district of Kırşehir and Yerköy district of Yozgat were transported to Sivas and Kayseri by buses.

Çakacak, in his statement to the AA correspondent, stated that he received the information that 2 wagons of Güney Express, which made the Ankara-Diyarbakır flight, were overturned between Çiçekdağı and Yerköy districts, and 2 passengers were slightly injured in the accident.

Expressing that there is nothing to worry about in the passengers and personnel of the train, Çakacak said, “The generator and personnel wagons of the train have been overturned. There is no problem with passenger cars. Fortunately, there is nothing to worry about except 2 mild injuries. 225 passengers of the train are transported to Sivas and Kayseri by buses. "It will be sent to the places they will go from there," he said.
