Invensys Rail Dimetronic has launched tests for automatic and driver-free operation of the Singapore City Center Line: the 42 mileage and 34 station will carry more than half a million passengers per day with the Invensys Rail SIRIUS CBTC system in automatic and driverless operation.
Invensys Rail Dimetronic has initiated dynamic tests on the first phase of the City Center Line signaling project in four kilometers of six stations, and is expected to be commercially operational next October with fully automatic and driverless operation.
The Singapore Transportation Administration (LTA) has awarded the tender for the procurement, installation and commissioning of the City Center Line's SIRIUS CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) system, the Rail 2008 ATS system and associated signaling technologies in 9000.
Invensys Rail Dimetronic has been testing signaling technologies in a test line in Changchun, China since September 2011. The signaling function tests will be completed by the end of January.
The start of the ticari trial run ın phase in Singapore in March and the October and October 2013, with the automatic and driverless operation of the SIRIUS CBTC system under supervision and control, envisages the first phase of the line to be opened for commercial operation.
The City Center Line, consisting of a total of 42 kilometers, 34 stations and two warehouses, is expected to carry more than half a million passengers per day in fully automatic operation.
In addition to its other advantages, SIRIUS is an Automatic Train Control (ATC) system which allows to reduce the travel range between the trains and to significantly increase the transport capacity of the line.
In the event of a malfunction, the SIRIUS system can continue to operate thanks to its unique redundant mode, based on the ”speed codes“ Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system, which allows to maintain the train movement in safe and fully automatic mode.
In addition, the project includes the latest generation of WESTRACE Mk2 electronic interlocking systems; Invensys Rail includes the 9000 automatic train control (ATS) solution and the supply of Peron Sliding Doors (PSD).
