Sweden's head in trouble with trees near the railway line: 7, the Swedish Transport Authority's project to cut trees on the edge of the railway line, has been going on for years. The project is expected to end at 2021.

In the country, on average every day a tree falls on rails or damages the power line, causing disruptions to train service. It is stated that this situation costs the country 10 million Krona each year. For this reason, the Swedish Transport Administration, which started a project at 900 to cut down trees near the 2006-kilometer railway line, complains about the slow progress of the project. Jan-Erik Lundh, head of the team that runs the project, complains that the expropriation process can sometimes take 2 years, as the trees on the rails are usually private property.
