Parallel to the 3-meter-long runway at the airport, a new 600-meter-long runway will be built with a total investment of $ 715 billion, including $ 1,3 million in construction and $ 3 million in expropriation. Within the scope of the project, the existing tower serving at the airport will be demolished and a new one will be built. The project, which will start at the beginning of 500, is expected to be completed in 2014 years. With the completion of the new runway, the passenger capacity of the airport will increase from 4 million to 30 million. Tracks in Turkey and surrounding countries will be single track in the Airbus A70.

A new runway will be built at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, located within the borders of Kurtköy in Istanbul Pendik. The investigation and evaluation process for the 'Construction of the 2nd Runway and Supplements to Sabiha Gökçen Airport' project, which is planned to be carried out by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), has started. The Project's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report was opened to the public. APRON AND TOWER WILL BE BUILT WITH A PROJECT 2

Located in the east of the Anatolian side of Istanbul and 28 kilometers southeast of the Bosphorus Bridge, the airport has a 06-meter wide 24-meter long runway positioned in the 45/3 direction. In addition, there are taxiways for 4 aprons and runways at the airport. As part of the project, a new runway, 2 aprons and taxiways will be built at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. In addition, it is planned to direct the tower, cargo building, rescue and fire services (RFFS), expansion of the existing fuel tank, E 5- TEM highway connecting road tunnel, bony stream diversion tunnel, main gas distribution pipe, and electrical line routing.

A second runway with a length of 3 meters and a width of 500 will be built parallel to the existing runway at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The independently operated parallel runway will be able to serve all aircraft, including the A60. The project cost of the Sabiha Gökçen Airport 380nd Runway and Supplements Construction project has been determined as 2 million dollars. The most important item in the investment, which does not include the expropriation costs, is the land works with 610 million dollars. In the project, it is planned to spend 300 million dollars for field drainage structures, 45 million dollars for roads, 95 million dollars for patio pavement and 75 million dollars for security. In the project, where 4 million dollars should be spent for navigation systems, 46 million dollars will be spent for the control tower, 23 million dollars for displacements and 17 million dollars for other works. The said airport construction works will take 5 years. In the project where the EIA process is aimed to be completed by the end of the year, Land Preparation and Stripping of the Vegetable Cover Layer will start in the first months of 4.

715 MILLION DOLLARS WILL BE EXPENDED

For the expropriation process to be carried out within the scope of the project, the cost of expropriation will be carried out by TOKI in mutual agreements with the owners. The expropriation value will be paid by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority. Expropriation cost is estimated to be approximately $ 715 Million. Within the scope of the project, the expropriation process will be carried out for the area of ​​180 hectares. In the region for the project 27 April 2012 date of the decision to expedite by the Ministers. Construction work will not be started in any way without the completion of expropriation procedures and necessary permits under the legislation.

500 WORKER WILL WORK

The second runway, which will be built with the capacity increase, will be placed in parallel to the south of the existing runway and at a distance of 100 meters. Airplane A319, A320-200, A321-100, B737-400, B737-500, B737-700, B737-800, B737-900, E190, A330-300, A358, B747-400, B777-200 and A380 model aircraft all can land. This track will be the only track in the Airbus A380 to be in Turkey and surrounding countries. 500 people will work in the construction of the runway. After the completion of the runway, the number of employees will increase to 2 thousand during the operation phase. With the completion of the runway, it is aimed to increase the number of passengers from 30 million to 70 million. 14 million cubic meters of excavation is planned within the scope of the construction works. Some of the excavation to be formed will be used in filling operations. 2 excavation storage areas will be determined for the storage of excavation waste. During the construction phase of the project, 40 million cubic meters of filling will be done.

The existing control tower serving at Sabiha Gökçen Airport will be demolished. The tower planned to be built will be 112 m in height and 26 m in diameter. The planned tower will provide controllers with excellent views of the airfield in general, as well as meeting the minimum criteria. Located in the center of the airspace, between the existing runway and the proposed second runway, the 112-meter-long Sabiha Gökçen Air Traffic Control Tower will provide first-class views of aircraft movements and manage the horizon over a great distance. In this way, the tower will become a great city sign and symbol for the airport and the region it is in. The tower building, which will be one of the tallest examples of its kind in the world, will stand noticeably and distinctively in the city skyline during the day. The tower will become an illuminated lantern at night.

Sabiha Gokcen Airport is located on an area of ​​6 million 18 thousand 858 square meters. The second runway area planned to increase the capacity is one million 311 thousand 992 square meters. The airport will have an area of ​​7 million 330 thousand 850 square meters with total area available and planned area. Within the scope of the project, the expropriation process will be carried out for the area of ​​180 hectares.
