BALO A.Ş, the most important intermodal transportation project of Turkey, of which UTIKAD, the Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers, became a partner last year, joined UTIKAD members. The membership certificate of BALO A.Ş, whose membership was approved at the monthly board meeting of UTIKAD held in İzmir, was given to BALO A.Ş. General Manager Hüseyin İşermiş by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Turgut Erkeskin.
Hüseyin İşermiş, who attended the İzmir Members Meeting held at İzmir Hilton Hotel on 29 July 2013, briefed UTIKAD members about the structure, activities and objectives of BALO.
Answering the questions of UTIKAD members at the meeting, Hüseyin İşermiş stated that BALO, which will start its first intermodal operations in September, will provide transportation services to exporters and importers as a block train operator through transportation business organizers who are members of UTIKAD. Hüseyin İşermiş said that BALO containers will provide Turkish exporters with the freight advantage, as well as the opportunity to carry more cargo.
Informing that the 350 containers supplied at the first stage were planned for the Cologne and Munich terminals in Europe and the operation centers in Izmir, Manisa, Ankara, Konya, Eskişehir and Bandırma in Turkey, through Rotterdam, Netherlands, İşermiş said, “The 45' BALO logo HC PW containers will depart from Manisa on September 8.
