Minister Yıldırım YHT made significant statements during his visit to İzmit Bay Construction site

Minister Yıldırım YHT made important statements during the visit to İzmit Bay construction site: Binali Yıldırım, Minister of Maritime and Communication, made important statements during his visit to İzmit Bay construction site regarding the High Speed Train Project, which is planned to be completed on October 29, Republic Day.

Binali Yıldırım, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, received a briefing at the construction site in Körfez District on the High Speed Train (YHT) Project, which is planned to be completed on October 29, Republic Day. He said that with the completion of the Yıldırım Bay Bridge, the road traffic in Kocaeli, which is the "transition bridge of Istanbul", will be reduced, and that the current projects are planned for 30 years from now.

Kocaeli Governor Ercan Topaca, AK Party Deputy Fikri Işık, project officials and highway workers accompanied Binali Yıldırım, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Communications, to the construction site in Körfez District. Minister Binali Yıldırım, who made a statement to the journalists after the briefing that lasted about 1 hour, reminded that 17 years have passed since the 14 August earthquake and said, “We remember with mercy our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake” and said that the relatives of those who lost their lives also shared their pain. Lightning said, “14 years after the incident should not be complacent. Earthquake is a part of life. Our citizens need to be more sensitive about structuring, especially in this generation. It is of vital importance that they help the administration in terms of building healthy structures, never and never going out of the earthquake regulations, ”he said.

Minister Yıldırım explained that all the details of the project were discussed in the meetings related to the High Speed Train Project, stating that they held the monthly Marmaray meeting and that they came to Kocaeli, the first stop on the Ankara-Istanbul construction site:

“From here, we will go to Bilecik Osmaneli construction site. The method we apply here; Where were we a month ago and where are we now? They tell us all of this in detail. We bring up the problems experienced and the shortcomings we see. We get the necessary information from technical friends. We bring a new speed and excitement to work. Currently, the studies are continuing within the program we anticipated, or rather determined. There is no deviation. There are minor things, but there is no negative situation that will affect the whole work. "

Minister Yıldırım emphasized that the High Speed Train project will be completed on October 29, but the line may not be put into operation on the same day, “This is not because the line is not ready. We do not intend to open 3 historical projects like this one on the same day. We will finish, but maybe there will be train services. It is certain that Marmaray will open on October 29, we announced this. The next opening will probably be the Ankara subways. The next opening will be the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed train line. "It will be seen that trains arrive at the beginning of October at the latest, and even in various places."

Minister Binali Yıldırım reminded that Kocaeli is a strait opening to Istanbul and that traffic is intense and continued as follows:

“This route is the most important transit point of West-East traffic. It starts from Gebze and continues until the Sakarya route. The relief of this line will be in two ways. First one; the activation of this high-speed train line. This will make a serious contribution. Latter; Istanbul-Izmit bridge crossing and Bursa-Izmir highway commissioning. But it's not enough. We are planning 30 years from now. It is a road that will pass north of Kocaeli as the Northern Marmara Motorway of the 3rd bridge. This also continues to work. When we implement the project in the medium term, there will no longer be such a problem here. There is no short-term solution to our life on long holidays, like on holidays. We make different level junctions, additional lanes. Sometimes we change lanes according to traffic. We provide solutions with operational methods, but let's not forget that the traffic on the roads has increased more than a hundred percent compared to 10 years ago. The number of vehicles was under 8 million, now 17.5 million. If we did not make the Kocaeli Izmit crossing double road, I don't even want to think about it. Then it would be completely locked. We could not produce solutions in any way. During this holiday, there was a capacity increase in the sea crossing. Despite this, there was a jam again. However, in a few years, as I have just mentioned, the traffic problem here will be completely solved with the Izmit pass and the high-speed train activation and the completion of the Northern Motorway.
