YHT's test drives start on September 30
High Speed Train (YHT) test drives will start on September 30.
The Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binalı Yıldırım, made statements about the line after receiving a briefing about the high-speed train line at the Körfez District of Yarımca Construction Site in Kocaeli.
Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binalı Yıldırım came to the Yarımca Construction Site in Körfez District of Kocaeli to receive a briefing on the High Speed Train Line. Making a statement about the latest situation of the High Speed Train Line studies, Minister Yıldırım stated that the test drives will start after the 30th of September and said:
“The distance between Gebze Köseköy is 56 kilometers. As of now, the existing line has been completely dismantled. Excavation and filling works were completed at 96 percent. All art structures are 99 percent, sub-base 71 percent, sub-ballast 68 percent, and ballast laying 38 percent. An average of 1 and a half kilometers of line laying work is carried out per day. In summary, ballast work will be finished on 14 August, and the entire line will be finished on 14 September. Electrical and signal works will also be completely finished on September 30, so the line will be ready for test drives. Current studies continue as planned. There is no bottleneck. YHT will be inaugurated within a month after the test drives. The electric Raybus between Adapazarı and Istanbul will start after the test drives. When this line is completed, there will be regular high-speed train services on the Adapazarı-Istanbul line, and there will be new trains running regularly from Istanbul to Izmit and Sakarya.
