Bursa Bar Association and DOĞADER applied to the authorized institutions for a stay of execution upon the cutting of the forest area between Sarıalan and the 2nd Development Zone in the New Cable Car Project, which is under construction. Bursa Bar Association President Ekrem Demiröz said that the Bursa 2nd Administrative Court decided to stay the execution of the tree cutting and said, “The municipality has promised an environmentalist approach. Between Bursa Sarıalan, the ropeway poles were planted by helicopter without cutting trees. However, 3 thousand 375 trees were allowed to be cut between the Sarıalan Hotels Zone, where the new line will be built. With the destruction and drying of the cutting, this figure reaches 4 thousand. The cuts made will not only cause destruction of trees, but also extinction for wildlife and other plants. The forest floor will be damaged during cutting. Reminding that more than one lawsuit was filed against the Metropolitan Municipality due to the fact that stations, shopping centers and hotels were included in the zoning plans, Demiröz said, "Uludağ is the oldest city in our country, although it is said that the new ropeway project will reduce the traffic in Uludağ. is one of the national parks.
