Sincan-Kayaş Line suburban flights were terminated on August 1, 2011 due to the construction of the New Farm Boulevard of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and the Başkentray Project.

Later on, TCDD held the Başkentray Project tender, which included the reconstruction of the Sincan-Ankara-Kayaş train lines, on April 25, 2012. During the 2 years that passed, the project could not be put into practice due to objections to the tender and legal processes. Finally, in May, the Public Procurement Authority decided to cancel the tender for the Başkentray Project.

Considering the fact that suburban trips cannot be made in Ankara for about 2 years, TCDD brought the train sets that were invalidated with the start of construction works to improve the Pendik-Söğütlüçeşme suburban lines and stations, and from there to Ankara by rail.

The existing suburban sets and additionally the sets brought from Istanbul will carry the residents of Ankara on the Sincan-Kayaş Line as of July 29.
