Kosovo's First Highway Will Be Completed By The End Of The Year

Kosovo Prime Minister Crown and Infrastructure Minister Muyota visited Kosovo's first highway construction site, designed by Turkish engineers.
Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and Infrastructure Minister Fehmi Muyota examined the 7th and 8th stages of Kosovo's first motorway, Vrmitsa-Pristina-Merdare motorway, near Pristina.
Taçi, who visited the highway construction site planned to be completed by the end of the year, received information about the works here.
In his statement to journalists, Taçi stated that highway works continue without any problems and that it will have an important contribution to the development of Kosovo when the project is completed.
If the studies are completed within the program, in the autumn, the Pristina-Skopje highway project can also be started by expressing Taçi's satisfaction with the efforts of the development efforts.
Muyota also stated that 70 percent of the work on the highway has been completed, and that the work on the highway will be completed by the end of the year if this pace continues.
The highway, which will bear the name of Ibrahim Rugova, the first President of independent Kosovo, is being built by the Turkish-American company “Bectel & Enka”. Turkish engineers who carried out the highway project received the "World's Best Highway Project" award for this project.
The Kosovo government has used over 600 million euros to date for highway construction. This figure is expected to exceed 1 billion euros by the end of the year.
