Sincan-Kayaş Line suburban flights were terminated on August 1, 2011 due to the construction of the New Farm Boulevard of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and the Başkentray Project.
Then, on April 25, 2012, TCDD held the Başkentray Project tender, which includes the rebuilding of the Sincan Ankara-Kayaş train lines. During the intervening 2 years, the project could not be implemented due to objections to the tender and legal processes. Finally, last May, the Public Procurement Authority decided to cancel the tender for the Başkentray Project.
Taking into account the inability to perform suburban flights in Ankara for nearly 2 years, TCDD brought the train sets that were wasted by the construction of Pendik-Söğütlüçeşme suburban lines and stations to commence the construction of the Pendik-Söğütlüçeşme suburban lines and stations to Ankara by rail. .
The existing suburban sets and the additional sets brought from Istanbul will carry Ankara residents on the Sincan-Kayaş Line as of July 29.
