Trabzon Mayor Orhan Fevzi Gümrükçüoğlu stated that they will continue their efforts to provide the best service to the city in unity and solidarity. Gumrukcuoglu held an evaluation meeting on the route and construction of the cable car project at the Trabzon Municipality Assembly Hall. The meeting was attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations, professional chambers and political parties, faculty members and city council members.
In his speech here, Gümrükçüoğlu said that the ropeway project was included in the "61 projects" they promised before the elections. Indicating that they do not have a clear attitude about the construction of the ropeway, Gümrükçüoğlu said, “If we give up on this project as a result of the investigations we have made due to the developing and changing Trabzon in the process, we will take our decision with civilized courage and tell our citizens. There's nothing wrong with that either. Many provinces did it, we did not think that we should do it too. If we are going to do this project in line with the ideas that have emerged, of course, we will start the project until March 2014. If we are going to do this, we will do it as Trabzon Municipality. We have 8-9 months for this," he said. Gumrukcuoglu also promised the participants at the meeting. Indicating that their views and suggestions will be taken into consideration, Gümrükçüoğlu said, “We take notes one by one of the ideas you have put forward in this meeting. Your opinions and suggestions will guide us. We will continue our efforts to provide the best service to this historical city in unity and solidarity.”
