Mayor Okay said the following: “As it is known, the Izmir-Ankara high-speed train line project, which will pass through Salihli in recent months, has taken its place on the agenda. Everyone in Salihli agreed that the high-speed train should either pass through the tunnel to be built on the existing route or take the route to the north of the city. In the Ankara - Izmir High Speed ​​Train line project, which is envisaged to pass through Salihli over the existing railway line and to close some level crossings in the city, and some level crossings will be provided through underpasses in the previous route projects, TCDD General Directorate of Railways A new process started with the decision to revise the route project taken by the Construction Department. In this process, drawing studies of the projects will be done and a new route will emerge. The CD of the project prepared by TCDD Railway Construction Department was sent. The high-speed train line will either be built on the existing route or the route will be shifted to the north of the city. We are not against the high-speed train line project passing through Salihli. Salihli will be divided into two if the high-speed train passes through the existing line. Traffic flow will also be negatively affected. Eskisehir, Izmir Karşıyaka and the problem was solved by taking underground in Buca. We showed these places as an example and stated that it would be appropriate to put the high speed train line project through the tube passage. TCDD Officials, as the new route to the north of the city can be shifted, ie the line will be separated from Yaraşlı station Kabazlı will be combined with the existing line. We proposed to protect the existing facilities in the project to be prepared for the authorities on this subject. The decision will be made by TCDD Railway Construction Department.
