Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway opening will be held this month
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov will visit this country upon the invitation of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Berdimuhamedov's visit to Astana will take place in the 10-11 May days.
At the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the issues related to the visit were evaluated. Bilateral agreements will be signed during the visit of the Turkmen leader to Kazakhstan. In the statement made by the Council of Ministers, it was emphasized that the relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan continue in an environment of equality and mutual cooperation.
Also, within the scope of the visit, the opening of the North-South railway line connecting the two countries with the participation of the presidents of the two countries will be opened.
This railway line, which Turkmenistan has jointly built with Kazakhstan and Iran, is closely related to the countries of the region.
The Turkish company also made significant contributions to the project. Net Yapı, one of Nata Holding's subsidiaries, took part in the project that will carry Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to Iran via Basra. The Turkish company established a construction site in Turkmenistan in the middle of the desert and completed the 9 kilometer railway line. With this line, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are tied together.
