Domestic tram Silkworm introduced to citizens in Bursa City Square
Under the leadership of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Durmazlar Turkey's first indigenous tram produced by the Holding "Silkworm" The prototype was introduced to the citizens in the town square.
Silkworm was designed and manufactured to reduce vehicle noise, exhaust gas pollution and heavy traffic in the city center.
The tram, which was built as a prototype and brought to the Sculpture Garage T1 Tram Line, which is about to be completed, was put on rails in Kent Square under the supervision of Metropolitan Mayor Recep Altepe and Local Tram Project Consultant Taha Aydın.
Some of the citizens who left their homes in the morning were surprised to see the vehicle.
Aydin and Metropolitan Municipality Secretary-General Seyfettin Avşar and Altepe examining the silkworm, said in a statement, the local tram said they had experienced the first happiness in realizing.
Stating that they want to live this pride of Bursa with the citizens, Altepe said:
"The local tram project with Turkey, Bursa as we produce. When the company that made the production gave the most suitable bid in the tender we opened, we bought 6 of these vehicles. Our urban tram line construction has also reached the completion stage. These vehicles will start to carry passengers approximately two months later. We wanted our people to see these vehicles to travel closely. With these vehicles, which are world-class and not more than their counterparts, quality will come to urban transportation. Image, noise and exhaust gas pollution will be eliminated. These vehicles will add value to all the streets they pass.
