Draft Law on Railway Transport Liberalization of Turkey

Elazığ, United Transport Workers 'Union (BTS) and Turkish Transportation Union members, Turkey Rail Liberalization Law on the Transportation' s been protested for withdrawal.

The group of 30 people gathered at the train station reacted to the draft law on the liberalization of railways. BTS Central Executive Board member Coşkun Çetinkaya, said in a statement here, said they demand the immediate withdrawal of the draft law.

Reminding that they started a march from Edirne, İzmir, Adana, Samsun, Kars and Van to Ankara on March 31, Çetinkaya said, “At the end of our march on April 3, a press release will be made in front of the General Directorate of State Railways in Ankara. After the press statement, our action will end by walking to the TBMM Dikmen gate.

The group, carrying Turkish flags and currencies, walked to PTT Square after the press release. The group broke up without incident after making a press release here.
