A written statement was made from the General Directorate of TCDD regarding the allegations that "A crash occurred during the Egeray high speed train line works in Izmir and 2 workers were injured".
In the statement, it was noted that as of now, there is no high-speed train line in Izmir. Pointing out that the construction of the Ankara-Afyonkarahisar section of the Ankara - İzmir High Speed Train (YHT) project has just begun, the statement said:
“The station subject to the news is not a high speed train station. The incident occurred during the construction of the Tepeköy station built by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in the section of Cumaovası-Tepeköy. As it is known, the road infrastructure and superstructure of Cumaovası-Tepeköy line has been completed by TCDD, and the station construction is done by the municipality in accordance with the relevant protocol. The dent in the construction of the station did not cause any problems in the railway operation. ”
