According to the report, 4 billion cubic meters of excavation will be used in the construction of the airport, which is planned to be completed in 2.5 stages on the Black Sea coast of Istanbul. The 3rd airport project to be built in Istanbul will be carried out by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. The EIA report was finalized in line with the opinions of the commission member institutions in the first meeting of the review and evaluation commission held on April 3 regarding the 9rd airport project of the Istanbul region. The 'review-evaluation' process of the report has been terminated. In accordance with Article 1 of the EIA Regulation, the final EIA report was opened for 14 days at the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization to receive public opinion and suggestions.

PROJECT 1. USING 1,2 BILLION METRIC BOARD

AIRPORT TO BE MADE IN ARNAVUTKÖY AND EYÜP

The project will be carried out in Arnavutköy and Eyüp districts on the European side of Istanbul. In the project area, there are large and small temporary puddles formed by the filling of rain water in the pits formed as a result of the coal mines activities that have been going on for many years. These puddles are not fed by any stream or continuous water source. In the topography, the highest level is 160 meters and the lowest level is -37 meters.
