In Van, members of the United Transport Workers Union (BTS) requested the withdrawal of the bill on the privatization of railways.

BTS Executive Board Legal Secretary Coşkun Çetinkaya, who read the press statement made by BTS in front of Fekiye Teyran Park in order to protest the draft law on the privatization of railways, said that they will not allow the looting process as railway workers. Emphasizing that they will not allow those who try to make themselves the slaves of the capital, Çetinkaya said, “We are starting a march from all over the country today by fighting jointly with all the railway workers, whom we believe will protect their jobs and future, in our reaction to this bill. We will continue and warn you with our strongest weapon, the strike. The railway, which is the accumulation of the people and has to provide cheaper service to the public for years due to the understanding of the social state, has been deliberately neglected by the political authorities for years and wants to be looted by saying that the state is humped on its back.

.

Stating that they have no choice but to fight together against the bill that aims to enslave them, Çetinkaya said, “As railway workers, we have to act together. That is why we invite all employees to the 'Railway platform' to fight together. We, our union BTS and Ulasim-Sen, which make up the railway platform, and the associations and foundations organized on the railways demand the immediate withdrawal of this law. We are starting a march from Edirne, İzmir, Adana, Samsun, Kars and Van to Ankara on 31 March to inform our people. At the end of our walk on April 3, we will make a press release in front of TCDD General Directorate in Ankara. After the press release, we will walk to Dikmen gate and put an end to our protest ”.

BTS members participated in the press release with representatives of KESK Branches Platform.
