Kayseri Rail System Works Have Started Again
The 2nd and 3rd phases of the rail system project of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, which facilitates urban transportation, gained speed with the warming of the weather.
While 6 separate teams from the Metropolitan Municipality carried out a feverish work on the lines of the rail system to Ildem and Talas, Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Head Arif Emecen gave information about the ongoing works on the Talas line.
Emecen said, “As will be remembered, the 2nd and 3rd stages of the Kayseri light rail system project were tendered about 1,5 years ago. During this period, detail studies, field studies and material studies were completed. This year, we continued our work as the winter season was also in the spring weather. As of today, studies have accelerated. We are planning to complete the 9-kilometer Ildem line and the 7,5-kilometer section of the 4-kilometer Talas line, including rail laying, power transmission lines, and energy signal system, by the end of this year. said.
Expressing that the rail system is a very comprehensive project, Emecen said, “I hope our municipality, Transportation Inc. and our contractor company will complete this work as soon as possible and start train operation tests on both lines at the end of December. As of today, we have 230 workers working in the field. In May, the number of workers will be around 350. Our goal is to complete these efforts within this year. " He spoke in the form.
Emecen stated that there will be 11 stations on both Ildem and Talas lines, and also said that there will be 8 transformer centers and 6 water tanks for the irrigation system.
Summarizing the completed and ongoing works on the lines, Emecen added that they aim to start passenger transport in January 2014.
