BURULAŞ Investments Reached 155 Million

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe announced that the amount of investments made by BURULAŞ in 4 years has exceeded 155 million TL.

President Altepe gave information about BURULAŞ at the assembly meeting held in the historical building in Sahne. Emphasizing that BURULAŞ is an institution with 100 percent municipal capital and that he is the chairman of the board of directors, Mayor Altepe said that the amount of investments they made in 4 years through this institution exceeded 155 million TL. Noting that as the Metropolitan Municipality, they used the municipal economic enterprises to the fullest in their efforts to make Bursa stand out and become a brand city with all its riches, Mayor Altepe stated that BURULAŞ is one of the leading companies of these companies, and said, “We have always done these and these activities in front of the public. We are making notifications. The services we have performed in the last 4 years are known to everyone. While we are making all these investments, we evaluate the companies we own to the fullest.” Emphasizing that BURULAŞ is currently operating the Bursa Bus Terminal, purchasing and operating ships for BUDO, which organizes expeditions between Istanbul and Bursa, and also chartering a seaplane and starting sea flights between Istanbul and Bursa, President Altepe said, “Besides all these works, Cumhuriyet Caddesi All of the tram lines in the city, including BURULAŞ, are made by BURULAŞ. Again, metro and tram wagons are purchased by BURULAŞ. Only BURULAŞ's investments for Bursa in 4 years have exceeded 155 million TL.

Mayor Altepe also referred to the Court of Accounts report, which has been spoken about the Metropolitan Municipality recently. Stating that the report does not carry a definite provision, but a foresight, President Altepe stated that these predictions were misunderstood. Mayor Altepe said, “As the municipality, we have made the necessary objections. Because there is no truth to the allegations made. No such thing. BURULAŞ is completely owned by the municipality, its capital is fully paid by the municipality. There is no problem in sight. Suppose there is such a thing, even then the excess money paid to BURULAŞ is detected and the detected money is transferred back to the Metropolitan Municipality account. There is nothing negative about it," he said.

Mayor Altepe also stated that he has no debts to the contractor company that built the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Stadium. Stating that progress payment amounting to 56 million TL has been paid to the contractor company to date, Mayor Altepe stated that the slowdown of the construction from time to time is a situation arising from the internal problems of the contractor company.
