National signaling to railways

National signaling to railways
The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), TUBITAK-BİLGEM and developed in collaboration with Istanbul Technical University National Railway Signaling has reached the end of the system. The system, which was commissioned at Adapazarı Mithatpaşa Station and implemented without any problems for 1 years, will be implemented in Afyon-Denizli-Isparta line following the approval of TCDD Board of Directors.
The railway system, which is as important as infrastructure works and rail laying, will be national in the Railways, which has ended its foreign dependence on many issues with the steps it has taken so far and the investments it has made so far.
2009 in 10. The National Railway Signaling System, which was developed in cooperation with TCDD, TÜBİTAK-BİLGEM and İstanbul Technical University, will be implemented in a short period of time in line with the objective of Demiryolu Developing the local railway industry uygulam determined in the Transportation Council.
The system which was developed by Turkish engineers and cost 4,6 million pounds was put into operation at Adapazarı Mithatpaşa Station for testing purposes. For the 1 years, TCDD is aiming to introduce the local signaling system on the Afyon-Denizli-Isparta line, which includes 341 and 32 stations. After the approval of the TCDD Board of Directors, the system will be installed in Afyon-Denizli-Isparta line in a short period of time. 85 million pounds will be spent to reach the local signaling system. If this line was awarded to a foreign firm, it would cost 185 million pounds.
EXCLUSION OF OUTSOURCE
Turkey in only one third of the current 12 thousand-kilometer railway line's signaling system in other words, about 4 thousand kilometers of line segments. In all of the systems used in these lines, 11 different signaling system produced by foreign companies is used.
This leads to high costs in areas where inter-system integration is required. In addition, the cost of an additional component to be added to existing systems can be very high due to software change. The fact that the companies establishing the signaling systems are located abroad makes the initial investment costs of the systems and the spare parts and material prices high. From time to time, these companies can bill up to half the cost of the installation.
In addition, there is a loss of time in supplying maintenance and needs. On the other hand, the use of imported signaling system, also constitutes an obstacle to the development of the industry for alarm systems in Turkey.
The system, which was developed in order to eliminate all these problems and eliminate the external dependency in railway signaling, is planned to be applied to the 6 thousand 100 kilometer railway line which is not the signaling system in the first place. If the railway lines in question are built with a local signaling system, about 2 billion pounds will remain in the state's safe.
Aiming to become a major rail base in Turkey, the National Railway Signaling System has developed the project in addition to using their own railways as initially plans to export all over the world including Middle Eastern countries and the Turkish Republic.
