1888
Sterzing mechanic Gabriel Leitner set up his workshop, where he manufactures agricultural machinery, cable cars for material transport, water turbines and wood equipment.

1925
10 person workshop. turned into a factory engaged in the mass production of agricultural machinery.

1947
After World War II, the company stopped material transportation by cable car and started human transport by cable car and LEITNER produced its first chairlift in Covara (IT).

1970
The production of agricultural machinery was abandoned and instead, the snowmobile sector was entered.

1983
LEITNER began to use separable terminal systems.

2000
LEITNER developed the Direct-Drive system. Also, a rope-driven system called MiniMetro was developed as a solution to the traffic problem.

2003
LEITWIND wind turbine improved

2012
LEITNER Turkey branch was officially opened in Bursa.
Today LEITNER has production facilities in Sterzing (IT), Austria, France and Colorado, and has 70 sales and service centers in other countries.
