Commuter train service stops in Istanbul
Both historical stations are isolated and the public is asked to be convinced that they are dysfunctional. During the construction of the Marmaray Project, Istanbul will not have a railway connection with Europe and Anatolia for at least four years. After the project, it is planned not to bring conventional trains from Haydarpaşa Gara Anatolia, and Orient Express and Regional Express trains coming from Europe to Sirkeci. If this looting project, which contains serious threats to the public interest, is realized, our attempt and war will continue to warn the public that irreversible damages will occur in the natural environment, social structure, historical and physical texture of the city.
Kazlıçeşme-Halkalı Between 1 March, train services stop.
Between Yedikule and Sirkeci, suburban trains will continue to be operated. The train in question will run a train every 15 per minute.
From Sirkeci Station Halkalısuburban train service to HalkalıIt took 47 minutes to arrive at.
Currently, all the intercity lines have been lifted at Sirkeci Station; There are only Bulgaria and Romania flights to Europe.
In the last February, the intercity lines of Haydarpaşa Train Station were removed due to the Gebze-Köseköy high-speed train project.
“Sirkeci Station should not be eliminated like Haydarpaşa”
Haydarpaşa Solidarity, which has been struggling for Haydarpaşa to remain as a “station” for 54 weeks, has taken action in front of the station so that Sirkeci Station, which has been providing station service for 123 years, will not be eliminated under the Marmaray Project, just like Haydarpaşa Station.
Haydarpaşa Solidarity gathered in front of Sirkeci Station around 12.00. The group carried banners that read “Sirkeci guard will remain stationed”, “If the station is a hotel, money to enter”, “The right of transportation cannot be prevented” and sang songs in the station.
Hasan Bektaş, who read the press release on behalf of the group, said that “Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci Stations are not needed when the Marmaray Project is completed. Beyond being a transportation project, Marmaray Project is actually a project to create rent. As of February 2012, Haydarpaşa Railway Station has been disconnected from Anatolia by citing the construction of high-speed train and Marmaray Projects. With the reason of the Marmaray Project work, Sirkeci Station is expected to be disconnected from Europe in March 2013. All of this is done to convince the public that they are dysfunctional by isolating both historical statutes. ”
