Density Ends Between Metro and Izban
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which wants to eliminate the passenger density experienced while transferring between Metro and İZBAN, will expand the bridges with 2.3 million-dollar investment and carry out the escalator installation.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Aliaga-Menderes Suburban System / İZPAN and İzmir Metro, which provides the integration between Halkpınar Station, is continuing its work to make the transfer operations faster and to overcome the congestion caused by the passenger density. In this context, two pedestrian bridges that function as a transfer between the subway and the suburban, and work to expand fixed staircases to escalators.
In Halkapınar Station, the existing steel pedestrian bridge, which provides pedestrian crossing to Çınarlı direction, is removed from the ticket hall and its width is increased from 1.85 to 7 meters. Within the scope of the works, the fixed stairways at the bridge end were transformed into a two-way escalator and an elevator was installed, especially for the use of disabled citizens. The production is planned to be completed by the end of January and ready for use by the citizens.
Immediately after the completion of the works on the first bridge, the expansion of the second existing steel bridge that provides the transfer between IZBAN and the Metro will begin. When the width of the current 2,60 is increased to 4 meters, the fixed number of 3 stairs will be removed to the 6 and converted to the escalator and the top will be closed. The project will cost 2 million 270 thousand TL.
