Shura Council of Saudi Arabia approves 16 billion dollar metro project

The $ 16 billion metro project planned to be built in Mecca was approved by the Saudi Arabian Shura Council. A total of 1800 houses, businesses and buildings will be demolished for the construction of the subway.
Within the framework of the project approved by the Council of Shura, a warning was made not to let the buildings in the area to be expropriated for rent. It was noted that the Mecca metro will be combined with the Medina-Mecca high-speed train project, while the payment for the immovables to be expropriated continues.
When the project is completed, pilgrims will be able to reach Arafat, Muzdalifa and Mina from Mecca by metro.
