Haliç Metro Bridge Project, which is a part of Taksim Yenikapı metro line, which was started to be built by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 1998, started to come to light. As of January 2012, 5 carrier feet were built and placed with millimetric calculations. A special crane was brought for the erection of bridge piers manufactured in Yalova with a weight varying between 380 and 450 tons. The crane, which has a carrying capacity of 800 tons, will be disassembled after the assembly of the deck. The assembly works of the deck and the construction of the viaducts that will connect the bridge to the tunnels continue.

Taksim-Şişhane-Unkapanı-Şehzadebaşı-Yenikapı Subway Pass, which is an important part of the Haliç metro crossing the skirts of Şişhane Azapkapı to the surface of the bridge after passing through the Golden Horn. The length of the ongoing bridge over sea will be 460 m. With the Unkapanı and Azapkapı viaducts, the bridge will reach the length of the 936 m.

Bridge and Istanbul metro will reach the Yenikapı Transmission Station without interruption. Transfer to Marmaray and Aksaray-Airport light metro lines will be provided in Yenikapı. The bridge will be used by 1 million passengers per day and is scheduled to arrive at the test stage in October 2013.

Passengers getting on the metro from Hacıosman will reach the Yenikapı transfer station without interruption. Here with the Marmaray link, Kadıköy-Kartal will be able to reach Aksaray-Airport or Bağcılar Olimpiyatköyü Başakşehir in a short time.
