TCDD General Manager Süleyman Karaman stated that the Bursa YHT Line will be built with the latest technological systems suitable for 250 kilometers, and said, "When the line is completed, both passenger and high-speed freight trains will operate."

Karaman, in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bursa YHT Line, held with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım, and Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk Çelik, he said that the first step was taken to relieve the high-speed train.

Karaman, who stated that Bursa, which got a train with the opening of the Bursa-Mudanya line in 1891, was deprived of this opportunity with the closure of the road in 1953, and said, "Bursa is starting to count the days to reach the high-speed train today." Expressing that the works have started in the 105-kilometer Bursa-Yenişehir section of the 74-kilometer road that will be connected to the Ankara-Istanbul line from Bilecik, Karaman said: “This line will be built with the latest technological systems suitable for 250 kilometers. When the line is completed, both passenger and high-speed freight trains will operate. Passenger trains will run at 200 kilometers per hour and freight trains at 100 kilometers per hour.

Bursa high-speed train station will also be built, a station will be built in Yenişehir and a high-speed train station will be built in the airport here. The implementation projects of the 30-kilometer Yenişehir-Vezirhan-Bilecik section have been completed, and the tender will be held this year. In the high-speed train construction works, 13 million cubic meters of excavation and 10 million cubic meters of filling will be carried out. A total of 152 works of art will be built.

Approximately 43 kilometers of the line consists of tunnels, viaducts and bridges. When the project is completed, the distance between Bursa and Bilecik will be 35 minutes, Bursa-Eskişehir 1 hour, Bursa-Ankara 2 hours 15, Bursa-Istanbul 2 hours 15, Bursa-Konya 2 hours 20 minutes, Bursa-Sivas 4 hours.” Karaman thanked everyone who contributed to the project, especially Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
