The foundation of the Bursa high-speed railway was laid with a ceremony. Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç, Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk Çelik, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım attended the ceremony.
The fast train from Bilecik will connect Bursa directly to Eskişehir, Ankara and Konya. With the project that will bring Bursa to the high-speed train after a full 59 year, the 2 hours between Bursa and Ankara will be reduced to 10 minutes.
The travel time between Istanbul and Bursa will go down to 2 hours. The project was initiated in 15 and thus the work of the Bursa-Yenişehir stage of the 2010 kilometer of the Bursa-Bilecik line of the 105 kilometer was commenced. Starting with the folk dance show, the groundbreaking ceremony continued with the opening speeches.
