Thanks to the bulbs mounted on the asphalt, the light follows pedestrians and warns drivers from 150 meters at night and 50 meters during the day. The system implemented for the first time in Bulgaria

It was developed by the young inventors of the Space Research Center of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAN). It is envisaged that the illuminated gateway will be used in 4 more locations in the capital. Whether the application is effective in the coming months will be tested. Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fındıkova, who opened the illuminated pedestrian crossing, said, “We will closely follow this pedestrian crossing. If it is efficient, we will organize other important gates of Sofia in this way as well.” gave his words. The cost of the application, whose cost has not been disclosed, will be tested in the coming months.

Stating that they are busy with the project of lighting pedestrian crossings since last year, Fındıkova said that it is difficult for drivers to see the signs on the road at night.

Fındıkova said that the normal light was placed on the 260 pedestrian crossing in Sofia, and that 35 also had a bumpy passage. For all this, the municipality has invested approximately 300 thousand leva.
