Before the end of 2012, the construction of the high-speed train line connecting Perpignan in France and Barcelona city will be completed. According to the Barcelona regional government, the first train service will take place in April.
With the opening of the high-speed train line, the distance between the two cities will decrease to 1 hour and 10 minutes. Already the Barcelona central station and the laying of the tracks of the line have been completed.
