Railway projects halted in the Netherlands

Billions of euros have been saved with the halted railway projects, according to sources close to the government. An asphalt road will be built with the money provided here.
Railway sector and circles close to the Ministry of Transport estimate that the halted railway projects, possibly the "High Frequency Railway" program. With this program, it was aimed to remove intercity or sprinter trains every ten minutes on busy lines. A total of 2,8 billion euros was allocated for this project.
According to the program of the new coalition government, the coins provided here will be used for the new railway security system ERTMS in 2016. The aforementioned sources will not include negativity for the operation of the railway. Because, the new railway program will be required to invest millions of euros for new trains.
