Prior to the Eid al-Adha, the priority choice of the citizens was the High Speed Train (YHT). While the occupancy rate in YHT reached 100 percent, it approached 100 percent in other passenger trains.
Eskişehir Station Manager Süleyman Hilmi Özer stated that the occupancy rate reached 100 percent on High Speed Train (YHT) flights and said, "Our trains are full during the Eid al-Adha".
Özer told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the number of passengers of the YHT, which entered service between Eskişehir and Ankara in March 2009, is increasing day by day.
Expressing that they are faced with an intense passenger potential on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Özer stated that citizens prefer YHT and increasing the occupancy rate to the top is a separate source of happiness for them.
Emphasizing that the people of Eskişehir love the High Speed Train, Özer said:
“Maybe it was unpredictable that it would be this dense. Currently, the 1,5-hour travel time between Eskişehir and Ankara has become the biggest choice of passengers. At the same time, being safe and providing our passengers with the comfort on board are important factors. We have 10 daily trips between YHT and Eskişehir-Ankara. There are also YHT services from Ankara to Konya. Our trains are full during Eid al-Adha. "
Özer explained that the occupancy rate on the trains with connections to Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, İzmir, Arifiye and Adapazarı was close to 100 percent during the festival.
“We also have high speed train connections to Kütahya. We carry out combined transportation to Bursa with road connection again. Here, too, buses are transferred to YHT with full passengers. The journey time between Bursa and Ankara, which is 6 hours by road now, has been reduced to 4 hours thanks to the High Speed Train.
