13 machinists dismissed by İZBAN A.Ş.

Thirteen mechanists, who were dismissed from the Izban Board of Directors on Monday (October 15th), because they did not take the suburban trains on a trip, filed to return to work. In the handwritten petitions, the machinists apologized to the residents of Izmir and the authorities for disrupting the expeditions.

IZBAN Administration will evaluate the requests for return from the 13 mechanic. İZBAN management will give the decision about the return within a few days. The mechanics wrote in their petitions a handwritten text although they wrote separately. The petitions contained the following statements:

“İZBAN A.Ş. I was notified by a phone message to the General Directorate that my employment contract was terminated due to my ongoing collective bargaining work while I was working as a machinist in your workplace, because I could not calculate the results of my workplace colleagues and comply with the decision taken to avoid being in a difficult situation. As a result of the said action, I have understood what situation the people of Izmir can become if the service provided by your company is disrupted and how important our work is. He apologizes to the people of İzmir, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu and the company's board of directors for what we have been living through, and taking into account the approaching Eid al-Adha, I and my family sent me a phone message. I would like to ignore the communicated employment contract termination and commence my duty. "
