Machinists working at İZBAN A.Ş., which had a significant load on the urban transportation of Izmır, made a quit action.

In the written statement, “Employees of an institution carrying more than 170 thousand passengers per day do not have the right to create chaos in urban transportation by attempting such an action regardless of their reasons. This action, which is carried out while collective bargaining negotiations are going on and at a time when the Supreme Board of Judges process, is against the law. In our country, those who work in the public transport sector cannot take strike or slow down work. The employment contracts of 13 machinists, who started the attempt to take away the public transportation rights of the people of Izmir, were terminated due to these illegal attempts. An extended investigation is also underway. ” The statement said. Recalling that İZBAN A.Ş., which started the pre-operation on 30 August 2010, is an institution that trains and educates its own staff, and that the machinists, who are graduates of vocational high schools and vocational schools, are subjected to a 6-month training process after the job applications: An average of 750 percent increase was made to our mechanics who received TL salary on 1 June 2011. At the end of the 12-month period following this, an average of 6 percent hike was made while collective bargaining negotiations continued. The hike rate in the one-year period is over 12 percent in total. In order to prevent the victimization of the people of Izmir due to the action of the workers, the city transportation system was revised in the early hours of the morning and it was noted that especially the workplaces and the schools were reinforced by ESHOT buses.
